Company history. 
In 1988 Kværner Kulde a/s opened up their own offices in Reykjavik, instead of relying on dealers in the area. From 1988 until 1997 the company grew and prospered under the name of Kværner Fisktækni a wholly owned subsidiary of the Norwegian mothercompany. In 1997 Kværner sold the operation to another Norwegian company MMC and our name changed to MMC Fisktækni. Then again in the year 2000 MMC in Norway merged with Tendos a/s and Odim a/s and again the name changed now to Optimar Iceland. In the winter of 2002 the mothercompany went bankrupt and Optimar Iceland was bought up by Gudmundur Jon Matthiasson and four other employees. In May 2003 Optimar Iceland bought the operation of Liquid Ice Ltd., and have since then been manufacturing the Liquid Ice machines now called Optim-Ice machines.
Company business: Manufacture and marketing of Optim-Ice liquid ice machines from 12kW to 60kW capacity as well as storage tanks and precoolers. Optim-Ice machines have been marketed under the name of Liquid-Ice since 1999. The company normal business is also fully automatic and manual freezing systems, vacuum pumps, RSW and processing equipment for both onshore and onboard installations. See Products

Company operations: Optimar Iceland used to be fully owned by Optimar a/s, Norway, but since the bankruptcy of Optimar a/s Optimar Iceland is fully owned by key employees of Optimar Iceland. Optimar Iceland purchased the operation of Liquid Ice Ltd. May 2003. Employees are today 14. The company has their manufacturing facilities in Stangarhyl 6, Reykjavík, Iceland.
